Meet Rajh Cromie, The Zen REALTOR®

“Sometimes the most important part of a move is having someone who understands why it is so hard.”

A move later in life is seldom a simple one. For the person moving, it may mean leaving a home filled with memories and facing a future that looks different from the one they imagined. For caregivers and family members, it can mean trying to offer support while honoring the wishes and independence of someone they love. There are practical decisions to make, but there are also emotions, family dynamics, and questions about what will truly be best.

This is where I come in, not to take over or rush the process, but to listen, bring clarity to the choices, and offer a calm, steady presence to the conversation.

My understanding of what it means to leave a familiar home and begin again is personal. I was born in Jamaica and am, and always will be, an island girl at heart. When I left Jamaica to make a new home in the United States, I was adapting not only to a different home, but also to a new country and culture. I had left behind family, familiar places, and friendships while trying to build new ones. At times, I felt lost and lonely as I searched for where I belonged.

That experience taught me that moving can have many layers. Beneath the practical details, there may be a loss of familiarity, community, identity, and the life you once knew. Creating a sense of home, forming new friendships, and finding your place in a new community all take time. The emotional side of that transition can be difficult to explain to someone who has never experienced it.

I have been there, and as I grow older, I am also beginning to navigate what my own next move may look like. I understand the questions that come with deciding whether to age in place, remodel, downsize, or begin again somewhere new because I am asking some of those same questions myself.

My life has included loss, anxiety, moving, and the challenge of finding home again. I also know what it means to be a caregiver. While caring for my sister, I faced one of the most difficult decisions a family member can make...the decision to begin hospice care. That experience taught me how deeply love, grief, responsibility, and uncertainty can become intertwined when we are trying to do what is best for someone we love. This is not work I approach only through professional training. I understand how personal these decisions can be and how deeply they affect the person at the center of them, as well as the family members walking beside them. It is why I bring patience, understanding, and compassion to every conversation.

My work draws on nearly three decades in human resources and recruitment, four years of guiding clients through buying and selling real estate, and twenty years of practicing and teaching yoga and meditation. Human resources taught me how to listen beyond the first answer and understand what people truly need. Yoga and meditation taught me how to remain grounded when emotions are close to the surface. Real estate is where those experiences have come together.

Having called Sarasota home for more than thirty years, I bring a deep knowledge of the area along with hands-on experience guiding buyers and sellers through inspections, negotiations, financing concerns, changing market conditions, and the many details that can make a move feel overwhelming. I pay close attention, communicate clearly, and remain involved from our first conversation through closing, so you always know what is happening and what comes next.

I am a REALTOR® with Catalist Realty and hold the Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) and Accredited Buyer’s Representative® (ABR®) designations. I also have training in Short Sales and Foreclosures and am completing a year-long Seniors Transition Specialist certification.

My wellness training includes Yoga for Arthritis, RYT Vinyasa Yoga, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Chair Yoga, Adaptive and Accessible Yoga, I AM Yoga Nidra Levels 1 and 2, and iRest Yoga Nidra Levels 1 and 2. I am continuing toward iRest Level 3 in 2027, with a focus on chronic pain, stress, and anxiety.

This combination allows me to support more than the real estate transaction. I work alongside adults 55+, caregivers, and families as they talk through their choices, understand what is possible, and move forward without losing sight of the person at the center of it all.

If you are wondering what your next step will be, or you are considering a major transition such as aging in place, remodeling, downsizing, selling a longtime home, or moving closer to family, give me a call. You may only be gathering information, and that is perfectly okay. You do not need to have all the answers, and you do not need to be ready to sell.

We can begin with an honest conversation about where you are, what is changing, and what would make life feel more manageable. There is no pressure and no expectation....just a place to begin.

Sometimes the first step is simply talking with someone who understands.

I am here to support the whole person-not just the move-
on or off the mat.
